COTHM celebrates International Chefs Day

On 20th of October, International Chefs Day is celebrated all over the world. This day provides a platform for students to create culinary oriented career opportunities. COTHM being the international flag- bearer of providing the best culinary education hence, COTHM and Chef Association Pakistan (CAP) together celebrate this day, every year.

According to this year’s theme “Healthy Foods for Growing Up” COTHM Karachi organised a competition amongst its students where 50 participants took part. In this competition students took Gold, Silver and Bronze medals as well as certifications for those who took part. After this, chefs from Karachi Chef Industry and various students started an initial chef walk from COTHM Karachi to Faran Club where the program continued its celebration.

COTHM students presented a marvellous drama of chef day which was highly appreciated by the audience. Mr. Sabir Ahmed, Director COTHM Karachi then welcomed the guests and people who arrived from the industry, he then told the students the rising importance of chefs in the international market and how COTHM is the pioneer of introducing this field in Pakistan and how it is faithfully playing its role towards the betterment of this industry, the students of COTHM have greater opportunities of working in either in Pakistan or anywhere in the world hence, any individual who wants to choose this field as a career should step forward as they have plenty of opportunities.

On this day, COTHM Karachi also pays tribute to this industry’s two lost stars Chef. Tahir Chaudhry and Zubaida Aapa by showing a documentary on their achievements for this industry.

To conclude the event the participants and guests were presented with certificates and the event finally came to an end with a splendid Hi – Tea for everyone.
