Chocolate is everyone’s number one priority when it comes to eating something sweet. When you’re sad you want to eat chocolate. When you are happy you want to have some chocolate. You send chocolates as a gift; in short chocolate is life!

But there is a popular chocolate brand that is being called back its several chocolate due to the possibility of being infected with Salmonella and that particular brand is Galaxy.

It’s not exactly Galaxy itself but the company that runs it, i.e. Mars. The company said it discovered the risk of possible infection on Thursday after testing the chocolate in its headquarters at Slough.

Mars released the following statement after the discovery:

“Through our routine testing, we have detected the potential presence of Salmonella from the ingredients used to make our chocolate.

“As a precaution, we are voluntarily recalling certain Galaxy Smooth Milk chocolate bars, Galaxy Minstrels and Galaxy Counters and Teaser bars. We are working closely with the relevant food safety authorities and our customers to ensure that the affected products are no longer available for purchase.

“If you have one of the products listed above, you should not eat it. Please keep the product and contact our consumer care team to arrange return and reimbursement.

“This precautionary recall has been initiated with the best interests of our consumers at heart and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused.

“No other brands or varieties of chocolate, pack formats, bar sizes or best before dates are affected.

To give you a clear view; these are the brands of chocolate being affected: Galaxy Milk 200g bars, Galaxy Milk 42g bars and multipacks, Galaxy Counters 78g treat bags and112g pouches, and Maltesers Teasers 35g bars. Only those products with best before dates in May 2018 are affected.

So be careful! If you find any of these products from Galaxy, avoid eating it. Instead you can try and have some other brand to fulfill your cravings.
