A cheesy burger

The traditional burger is a crowd-pleaser! This simple handmade beef burger recipe yields delectable patties that can be topped with cheese, lettuce, and tomato and sandwiched between floury buns.

  • olive oil
  • 1 onion
  • mixed dried herbs
  • 1 egg,
  • 4 slices Cheddar
  • 4 white rolls
  • round lettuce leaves
  • 1 beef tomato
  • ketchup

In a frying pan, heat the olive oil, then add the onion and cook for 5 minutes, or until softened and golden. Remove from the equation. Combine the beef mince, herbs, and egg in a mixing bowl. Season with salt and pepper, then stir in the onions. Form four patties using your hands. Cook the burgers for 5-6 minutes on each side on a preheated grill or griddle. Place a piece of cheese on top of the second side to melt slightly as it cooks. Meanwhile, on the barbeque, lightly brown the cut-sides of the buns. Place the lettuce, burgers, and tomato slices on top. If desired, serve with ketchup.
